Interesting comments on stim. chasing. The conversation is about what dominates our time. For me riding my motorcycle is a form of stim chasing. Riding it at higher speeds gets the adrenaline going. However it’s not healthy so the question is what can I do to avoid needing the rush. For me, I take my meds when I’m supposed to and make sure to keep my stress levels in check. I also rock climb. I have a friend that mountain bikes and if he needs a quick push before a long project he will do some biking to get the dopamine flowing. Remember ADHD is primarily a frontal lobe/neurotransmitter issue and adrenaline, serotonin and dopamine are involved in neuron reception. I hope this helps those that took the stim. chasing conversation down a different road. The reality is that we get more tickets, find ourselves in the ER more often and have an increased propensity for addiction. If you think about it, these are all the product of stim chasing.
